[Second Gear]: [Accidental Audio]

... -et me get this straight. Or... try to...

Be my guest...

You're from... 1917 Earth. London. And these people called Germans were dropping bombs on you?

On the country, yes.

Because they were... mad?

... I guess you can say that. I really don't know all the politics. They were the same ones that stopped me from finding my brother.

Oh... that's too bad... you never found him?

Nah. Trail went cold somewhere back in France. We went back to England to try and find him, but Mitch's dad got all snooty and whatnot about his sons hanging 'round a Hawaiian with 'no manners'. Had me go all proper and wear dresses and barely let me anywhere near a mechanic's garage. *sighs* And now I'm here... I still don't get all this, either.

I explained it to you!

You say that like it made sense to me! I-I don't even know what this weird thing is that's... got... a strange blinking light on it...

What? Let me see. ... oh. ... hehe... i-it's recording.

... what do you mean, recording? Like... like sound? It's recording my voice?!

Mine too! Well... good of a time as any to introduce yourself to the rest of the Digital World, Rei. ... Rei? What are you... Re- *CLANG! That would be the sound of Harugurumon getting thrown in to the wall*

Not even!

Indeed i've been here several months and I scarcely get involved in combat.

A job is a good idea as is a home, there are some inns that can give you a place to stay for free right now till you can get on your feet, and you mentioned you've worked as a mechanic? That would be very useful to you as it seems there's always work for the mechanically inclined.

Mhm. I was an apprentice to my uncle in Hawaii, and then an assistant to a friend of Mr. Edwards. He didn't let me do as much as my uncle did, but I don't think I've lost all my skill yet.

It's a start if nothing else. My associate Jessie back in my own world always used to say "If you can't find work you're not trying hard enough." and I believe you should have no problem.

So... any idea where I can start? Oh and... I think some clothes might be a good idea, too.

Why can't you get clothes fro-

We already had this conversation. No. Dresses.

[identity profile] techsavytabby.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm...well I'm not sure what to do for clothes...but in theory if you made a post requesting female clothes in your side I'm sure there will be charitable donations...and the same for job hunting. It's how I found my job...that and keeping an ear out for opportunity.

I suppose that works. I might wait until I'm better, though. I got burned pretty badly. Not exactly in any condition to be walking, let alone working.

[identity profile] techsavytabby.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'm terribly sorry to hear that.

Is there anything I can do to help?

[identity profile] steamgoboom.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Mm... well, I'm kind of bored. Not really sure what I can do without moving, though.

[identity profile] techsavytabby.livejournal.com 2009-08-27 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
Well...what kind of music do you like?

[And yes he's actually playing the piano bit from this, the rest is prerecorded and mixed in]

... wow. That was nice. ... was that you playing?

[identity profile] techsavytabby.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
I-indeed. While I don't compose my own pieces I find it soothing to practice the works of those before me. A pleasant break from my other entertainment which is work.

[Attached: A playlist of classic music]

There we are, a good set of music for you to listen to while you heal.

Ah... thank you. Does this play on my little... device here?

[identity profile] techsavytabby.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Precisely. If you mess around with the menu you should be able to locate the function, it is very user friendly. If you're still having trouble though I'd be happy to come by and give you a crash coarse in how to use it.

*fiddles with it for a moment, accidentally turning the audio off, but gets it back on again*

Yipe! I-I think I did something wrong... nng this thing is too difficult...

[identity profile] techsavytabby.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
D-don't worry about it. I'll come over and help you out. You'll be an expert in no time.

O-okay... thank you...
